Description
Description
The Linshang LS251D split Leeb hardness tester combines a handheld display unit with a separate D impact device. It measures metal hardness by rebound and lets you position the probe on the workpiece while holding the display where it is easy to read.
Separate probe for larger metal workpieces
The D impact device suits common metal components such as machine guides, molds, bearings and heavy assembled parts. Select the matching material before choosing a hardness scale. The instrument displays Leeb values and provides conversions to HV, HB, HS and Rockwell scales where the selected material supports them; converted values are not direct tests under those other methods.
Prepare a clean, smooth metal surface. For normal unsupported testing, the workpiece must weigh at least 5 kg and be at least 25 mm thick. Lighter or thinner pieces require coupling to a solid support. Coupling and surface preparation remain necessary even when the probe can physically reach the test location.

QC limits and a nine-reading view
Choose statistics mode to review the maximum, minimum and average of the latest nine valid readings. QC mode compares a reading with user-set upper and lower hardness limits, helping you check a series of incoming parts against your own acceptance range. Nine recent records remain available after power-off.
A built-in direction sensor compensates for changes in impact direction. Load the impact body, hold the probe firmly and squarely against the prepared surface, and press the release button. Check calibration against an appropriate standard hardness block before a measurement sequence.

Keep the measurement conditions consistent
Use the same material selection and hardness scale when comparing readings. The instrument also provides a hardness/strength selection for supported material conversions. Treat that strength readout as a conversion from hardness, rather than a tensile test. Release the impact body after use and keep lubricants out of the impact device.
