Description
Description
The Linshang LS220H dry film thickness gauge measures non-magnetic coatings on steel or iron and non-conductive coatings on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper. Its integrated Fe/NFe probe covers 0–5000 µm, making it suitable for checking paint, powder coatings and anodized layers on compatible metal substrates.
Match the measurement to the substrate
Select Fe mode for a ferrous base, NFe mode for a non-ferrous base, or automatic Fe/NFe identification when working across both. The probe uses Hall effect measurement for ferrous substrates and eddy current measurement for non-ferrous substrates.
The ruby-tipped probe is built into the gauge for one-hand use. Take individual point measurements with the probe perpendicular to the surface; lift the gauge between readings rather than sliding the probe across the coating.

Zero adjustment and recent readings
Perform zero adjustment on a suitable uncoated substrate when first using the gauge, after replacing batteries, or when the material or ambient conditions change. The gauge retains the nine most recent readings, with the oldest value replaced as new readings are taken.
Check that the workpiece meets the minimum area, thickness and curvature requirements. The coating/substrate combination matters: this gauge does not measure every coating on every metal.
