Description

The Linshang LS226 coating thickness gauge is designed for measurements on flat coated metal plates. Its integrated probe uses the instrument's own weight to provide consistent positioning, while front and top displays make readings visible from different viewing positions.

Flat-workpiece checks with Fe/NFe detection

The gauge measures non-magnetic coatings on ferrous metal and non-conductive coatings on non-ferrous metal. Automatic substrate identification switches between Fe and NFe; fixed-substrate modes are also available.

Typical measurement tasks include paint on metal, anodized layers and coatings on thin sheet substrates. The minimum measuring area is 15 mm in diameter. Check that the substrate is at least 0.2 mm thick for Fe or 0.05 mm for NFe before comparing results.

Calibration, QC and measurement records

Zero adjustment and one- to five-point calibration let the measurement setup be matched to the workpiece. Normal and QC modes are available for routine readings and checks against thickness limits.

Single measurement mode is recommended for precision measurements. Continuous mode takes readings about every 0.1 s, but does not store measurement data or allow access to the history interface while it is active. In single measurement use, the instrument stores the nine most recent readings.
