Description
Description
Measure pane thickness and the air space in insulating glass from one accessible side with the Linshang LS200 glass thickness meter. Laser reflections from the glass surfaces appear on a graduated scale, allowing the operator to read the positions and calculate layer thickness. The compact instrument suits glazing checks where the pane edge is difficult to reach with a ruler or caliper.

Separate glass and air-space scales
The instrument has a glass-thickness scale up to 70mm and an air-space scale up to 34mm. Read the reflected beam positions on the appropriate scale and use the spacing between them to determine the required layer thickness. A double-glazed unit produces four reflections, while triple glazing produces six.
The LS200 uses a manual scale-reading workflow. Hold the meter flat against the glass and identify the reflections before recording a result. Separate scales keep the pane reading and the insulating cavity reading identifiable during a check.

Positioning and laser precautions
Keep the glass surface and instrument scale clean. The meter must rest flat against the pane, because tilting it changes the reflected beam positions. Make sure the sample covers the measurement area, and avoid placing anything between the instrument and the glass.
The laser exits from the back of the meter. Keep the beam away from eyes and check the other side of the window before testing. Read the scale from a suitable viewing angle in bright surroundings while maintaining flat contact with the glass. Protect the scale from alcohol and other organic solvents during cleaning.
