Description
Description
The Linshang LS161H solar film transmission meter brings VLT, UV rejection, infrared readings, TSER and SHGC into a pocket-sized color-screen instrument. It suits comparisons of individual solar film samples during demonstrations, incoming checks and quality-control work. A narrow slot accepts film less than 0.8mm thick.

Seven outputs for film comparison
The instrument provides visible light transmission, UV response, infrared channels at 940nm and 1400nm, a Full IR output, total solar energy rejection (TSER) and solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC). Select a display combination that matches the values you need to compare, then use the same selection across the sample set.
The visible channel follows the CIE photopic response across 380–760nm, with a 365nm peak ultraviolet channel. The two infrared references make the test wavelengths explicit when discussing a film result. TSER and SHGC add further displayed indicators for assessing the sample under the instrument's measurement conditions.
Reading and recording
A 240 x 240 TFT color screen presents numerical results and color-coded bars. The screen rotates through 180 degrees for convenient viewing. With a sample in place, HOLD keeps the readings visible after the film is removed. Release the retained state before moving to the next sample.

Practical sample handling
Keep the slot empty during startup so the self-test and calibration can complete. Place a clean film piece across the optical path and keep it steady while viewing the selected parameters. The 70g body weight excludes batteries, making the instrument easy to carry between sample checks.
Four AAA alkaline batteries provide power, and automatic shutdown follows three minutes without button operation. Record the parameter names alongside each result to keep visible transmission, infrared rejection and solar-energy indicators clearly identified.
