Description

The Linshang LS161 window film tint meter compares visible light transmission with UV and infrared rejection on thin film samples. Its 940nm infrared channel helps distinguish how films respond at that test wavelength. A compact gray body and color display make it practical for sample demonstrations, receiving checks and film quality-control work.

Three optical readings on one display

Insert a film less than 0.8mm thick into the slot to see the result. The visible channel follows the CIE photopic response across 380–760nm, while the ultraviolet channel uses a 365nm peak wavelength. Select visible transmission alone, three transmission readings, or visible transmission with UV and IR rejection.

The infrared result is specific to the 940nm channel. When comparing film samples, use the same instrument and display mode so each reading describes the same optical quantity. The slot is intended for thin film samples, with the material covering the measurement area.

Read and retain film results

The 240 x 240 TFT screen uses colored progress bars to make the selected readings easy to scan. Its display rotates through 180 degrees for viewing from either orientation. Press HOLD while measuring to retain the values after removing the film, then release HOLD to resume testing.

Before each comparison

Start the instrument with the test slot empty so its self-test and calibration can complete. Four replaceable AAA alkaline batteries power the meter, and automatic shutdown follows three minutes without button operation. Keep the slot clear of dirt and avoid corrosive materials during handling.

Use the retained reading to record or discuss a sample result. The single-button operation and pocket-sized format suit repeated checks on separate film pieces where a full glass panel does not need to fit through the slot.
