Compare AC-input bench power supplies and DC-input programmable modules for electronics testing, repair and prototyping. Choose the input format first, then match the output range and control options to your load.

Choose the input format first

An AC-input bench supply connects to the mains voltage specified for the selected instrument. A DC-input buck module needs a separate compatible DC source. Do not connect a DC-input module directly to AC mains.

Compare input and output ranges

Power supply model selection
Model Input Adjustable DC output
K3010DN 110V or 220V AC option 0-30V; 0-10A
K605DN 110V or 220V AC option 0-60V; 0-5A
DPH8909 20-110V DC 0-96V; 0-9.6A
DPH8920 20-110V DC 0-96V; 0-20A
DPM8650 10-75V DC 0-60V; 0-50A
DPM8605 10-75V DC 0-60V; 0-5A

These are the listed adjustment ranges, not a promise that every maximum voltage and current can be used together. Check the intended operating point, input-source capacity, cooling and model limits.

Check the configuration and controls

  • Input option: For an AC-input model, match the selected voltage option and input label to your supply. For a DC-input module, confirm the external source and wiring required.
  • Output requirement: Compare the load's voltage, normal current and startup requirement with the instrument's supported operating conditions.
  • Communication and package: TTL, 485 and RF options differ by model and variant. Check the chosen interface, remote controller and included cables on the product page.

Read the guide to constant-voltage and constant-current operation before choosing control settings for your task. For waveform testing, compare task-matched oscilloscopes and signal generators.

For selection help, send your input source, required output and load details.
